03 Jan 2014 – Will Greene Photography – A Year in Review
Happy New Year’s!!!! Will and I were driving home late Wednesday night after a fabulous New Year’s Eve wedding and discussing all of our goals, hopes, and dreams for the new year. Goals for better customer service, hopes that we’ll continue to be blessed with lots of awesome clients, and dreams for growth not only in our current business but other additions to Will Greene Photography services that we’re hoping to launch this year. With all of this talk of moving forward and growing, I can’t help but look back on how amazing of a year 2014 was! We were blessed with so many good clients that have forever changed us. We’ve learned lots and grown in ways we could have never imagined. What better way to tell the story than with some photos…
The first wedding of the year was Atha and Carl’s wedding in Bath, NC on the water. What a gorgeous start to our wedding season for sure!
We celebrated Easter with Sara and Jesus! And though it rained cats and dogs that day, the love that radiated through made the day nothing short of magical!
The month of April also took us on another adventure… Our first wedding in Belhaven! Tara and Jason had such a lovely wedding day.
… And then there was May!!! May was one of the most exciting months Will Greene Photography has ever seen. We even shot 3 weddings in one weekend! Though looking back it was a bit of a whirlwind, we feel so blessed that we were able to celebrate so many awesome people!
Kristie and Adam started off May with a bang! We had so much fun celebrating with the pair. From their gorgeous ceremony, to the trolly ride to the reception at the gorgeous Martinsborough, to the lovely sparkler exit, it was absolutely the epitome of a perfect wedding day.
Our three wedding weekend started off with Jennifer & John’s Yankee Hall wedding! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Yankee Hall look so beautiful! They picked out the most beautiful centerpieces and flowers.
Then there was Allison & Matt’s beautiful wedding at the Hilton! They’re expecting their first little one in the spring and we’re so excited for them! We’ll also celebrate with their families again in July when Allison’s sister marries Matt’s brother!
We finished up our three wedding weekend with Shannon and Thomas at Yankee Hall. They were so much fun! Shannon’s family is one of the biggest we’ve ever worked with and though I’ll never remember everyone’s names, I’ll also never forget how sweet everyone was and how excited they were to celebrate Shannon and Thomas.
We celebrated Rachelle and Ethan next in our first Campbell University wedding. Their gorgeous wedding helped us create some amazing photos that we submitted to the online wedding blog, The Learned Bride. We had a New Year’s surprise when they notified us that Rachelle and Ethan’s wedding made it into their top 10 weddings of 2014.
We finished up our busy month of May with Samantha and Will’s Bath, NC wedding. We’ve always said we love backyard weddings, but their backyard wedding on the water was definitely one for the books!
We started out June back at Yankee Hall with Juliann and Steven! I’ll never forgot how sweet Juliann’s dad was while he officiated their ceremony. Seriously had to blink away tears while snapping away!
And then there was Laurel’s wedding… Laurel is one of my best buddies. I took a break from being behind the camera so I could stand by Laurel’s side as a bridesmaid! She was stunning and I’ll never forget the memories we made that week!
We rounded up June with our first ever wedding at Tripp Farms with Melanie and Jim. It was nothing short of stunning. Seriously, they are such a sweet couple and we smiled lots and lots that day!
Sometimes we dread July weddings just from the thought of the shear heat… Not this year! Tessa and Isaac had a most gorgeous backyard wedding on the water outside of Havelock! They are seriously the sweetest couple we have ever met!
We rounded out July with Hillary and Randy’s Hilton wedding. Hillary has the most gorgeous smile I have ever seen and the way Randy looked at her throughout the day melted my heart!
August was busy and for the most part rainy! The rain didn’t stop Anna and Ricky from having the wedding of their dreams!
I missed Lauren and Justin’s wedding but Will still returned more photos than he ever had before… It was just that kind of day. Everything was gorgeous and they really knew how to throw a fun party!
Carly and Kyle’s Alice in Wonderland themed wedding is one we will surely never forget. The decor was to die for! The entire day was nothing short of perfection!
We rounded up August with Natalie and Chris’s Wilson, NC wedding. I’ll never forget tearing up at how sweet Natalie’s speech was and the way that Chris simply beamed at his gorgeous bride all day!
Jennifer and Ben started out our exciting month of September with their Beaufort, NC wedding at the Boathouse. We will never grow weary of shooting at the Boathouse! We loved their ceremony on the water.
Kathryn and Jacob’s wedding was exactly how I envisioned it for them! We celebrated a success this year after submitting their engagement session to Knot’s Villa. It’s definitely one of our favorite all time features.
Next up in the September line-up was Terilyn and Eric’s Tripp Farms wedding. Though we were excited to be back at Tripp Farms, I never knew my favorite part of the day would be watching Terilyn’s shear joy unfold. She showed so much precious emotion that it was hard to contain my excitement for the newlyweds!
We rounded up a busy September with Anne and John’s fabulous wedding in Swansboro, NC. I hadn’t been to Swansboro in years, but our adventure in Swansboro was nothing short of fabulous. Their reception was amazing and I’ll never forget the magic we felt as they released their Chinese lanterns.
October started off with a bang with Megan and Nick’s Pinehurst wedding… The entire day was filled with gorgeousness. Is that even a word?? Well it should be!
Next, we celebrated with Liz and Grantley in Windsor! Such a perfect day (minus that little bit of rain right smack dab in the middle of the ceremony) followed by a rockin’ reception with Jupiter Jones!
I handed over my camera once again for Lauren and Zak’s wedding and enjoyed being a bridesmaid again. I’m a little biased, but it was by far one of my favorite weddings of the year!
We finished up October with my favorite DIY wedding of all time- Liz and Eli’s. Seriously, there wasn’t a single detail unaccounted for throughout the entire day. Too many sweet moments to list but my favorite by far was when Eli first caught a glimpse of his stunning bride!
I missed our only November wedding to work. I sure hate that I did because the photos of Meredith and John’s big day left me wishing I was there! Seriously gorgeous!
December is sometimes on the slow side for us, but this year we celebrated with three amazing couples. First, we saw the magic grow for Lindsay and Charlie as they said their “I do’s”. Charlie goes down in my books as one of the sweetest grooms of all time. He was absolutely the best as they exchanged a few words before the ceremony from opposite sides of a door.
Garrett and Micah didn’t leave me with a dry eye either. Not only did I tear up as Garrett’s voice came over the speakers seconds before she was to walk down the aisle delivering a most heartfelt message to Micah, but I also couldn’t help but feel teary eyed watching Micah smile from ear to ear as he saw his bride come to him at the altar.
We sent 2014 out with a bang at Maggie and Jerauld’s New Year’s Eve wedding! Maggie looked nothing short of a princess and there was no doubt Jerauld knew just how lucky he was!
2014 was definitely one of our most memorable years to date. Though this post was more geared towards all of the amazing weddings we were honored to be a part of of, but also saw lots of growth with our Womb to Walk packages and countless other families, seniors, and children’s sessions. We’ve made lots of memories, seen lots of amazing places, and shared many, many smiles. We’re so excited to jump into 2015 full swing! We hope you’ll join us for the ride!
