Kelley & Daniel – Wedding Photographer – Dare County NC

I was so scared that this would be a washout of a wedding day.  As I was driving down Highway 12 from Nags Head to Buxton showers started to come in waves.  I’d have to slow down the car one minute because it was raining so hard, then it would slow down to the point of stopping – then it would pour again.  Just before I got to the cottages where the bridal party was getting ready, I got a warning that the road between the two cottages were flooded and it was still raining. With all of this happening I honestly don’t believe Kelley was too terribly worried.

It’s amazing how rain on your wedding day can sound like such a nightmare while you are planning your wedding, but once the big day arrives, nothing really matters.  Kelley knew the most important thing was that she was going to marry Daniel – rain or shine.

As Daniel arrived at The Inn on Pamlico Sound the sky started to clear and eventually the sun came out!

I love this shot of an anxious Kelley looking out as her guests begin being seated.

By the time the ceremony got under way, you wouldn’t have known it had rained at all.

As the sun set, some of the guests went out to the pier to enjoy the gorgeous view and goof off a little. (I also got to sneak in a few more portraits of the newly married couple.)

Possibly my favorite bouquet toss ever!

Now we dance!
